The problem
The cluster had been re-clad two years earlier at 75% shade, chosen on the hottest fortnight of the year. The crop spent the other nine months under a cloth that was costing yield, and the growers had started cutting panels out by hand in the spring.
What we specified
AgriShade at 50%, cut and hemmed to each structure rather than sold by the roll, with the seams positioned over the purlins so no join sat unsupported. Clip-and-wire fixing every 500 mm through the reinforced hem.
The result
One dispatch, one shipment, eight structures re-clad between harvests. The co-operative has since re-ordered for two further sites on the same specification.
